FAAC C851 High-Speed Sliding Gate Motor – Up to 40 m/min
For industrial and commercial sites where a conventional sliding gate is simply too slow, the FAAC C851 is a purpose-built high-speed operator with an adjustable gate speed of 20 to 40 m/min. It is designed for sliding gate leaves weighing up to 1,800 kg and up to 20 m wide.
The built-in inverter allows the opening and closing speeds to be configured for the site, making the C851 suitable for warehouses, industrial entrances and other locations where faster vehicle access and continuous-duty operation are important.
Key capabilities: 20–40 m/min adjustable speed • up to 1,800 kg gate leaf • up to 20 m leaf width • 100% duty at 25°C • integrated manual release.
The final programmed speed should be selected according to the gate weight, length, track condition, braking distance and safety layout. Maximum speed is not necessarily the correct setting for every gate.

New Installations, Replacement & Conversion of Older Concealed Motors
Over the years, we have installed, replaced or worked with concealed autogate motors under various brands, including MAG, COMEX, Radion, Super 100, Doorguard, Ranger, Good1 and Dormer. This experience is useful when an older concealed motor fails and the original model is discontinued or no longer readily available.
Many concealed swing gate systems use a broadly similar operating concept, but they are not necessarily direct drop-in replacements. For replacement jobs, we check the existing motor box or mounting space, shaft position, gate geometry, brackets, controller and wiring, drainage and the overall mechanical condition of the gate before recommending a suitable replacement.
An older concealed system also does not always have to be replaced with another concealed motor. Where the gate layout is suitable, we can convert the gate to an above-ground arm-type system such as the FAAC 415. In one of our replacement projects, the existing concealed motors were isolated and left in the ground while a new FAAC 415 system was installed above ground. This meant no hacking or make-good works were required for the existing motor recesses, while giving the owner a more accessible system for future servicing.

Converting from Concealed Motors to FAAC 415 Without Hacking
This project originally used concealed swing gate motors. Instead of hacking out the existing underground motor recesses, we isolated the old concealed system and left the motors in the ground, then installed a new FAAC 415 arm-type autogate system above ground.
Because the existing underground motors could remain safely in place, no hacking or make-good works were required for the motor recesses on this installation. This can be a practical replacement option where the gate geometry allows, especially for owners who prefer the accessibility and long-term serviceability of an above-ground arm-type motor.
Whether this approach is suitable depends on the gate design, hinge position, available mounting space and opening geometry. We assess the existing setup before recommending either another concealed motor or conversion to an arm-type system.
